SIT will now automatically select that maintenance is being certified for the applicant and their family in all Skilled Worker and Temporary Worker (Tier 5) visa applications where the maintenance requirements apply. This will simplify the application process and reduce SIT workload in processing applications.
The costs involved are a maximum of £1270 for the applicant, £285 for their partner, £315 for their first child and £200 per each additional child. In the last few years a few visa applicants have required support, which has normally been provided by a salary advance, paid back in later months. SIT are unaware of circumstances where the department or college has been obliged to provide funds which have not been recovered.
